RETREAT

Does this look like a fabulous, impromptu weekend writers retreat?

That's a picture of my motel suite in Elko NV for the weekend. No cats, no cooking, no cleaning, no hubby or family interruptions. Bathroom all to myself.

My plan is to get some type of writing done - and not just this blog post, lol. Tomorrow; today is mostly over, and I've been away from blogging for a couple months so I'll be visiting around for a little bit before finding somewhere to eat.

I'll be back to blogging regularly in July, starting with the IWSG. I know, my name has dropped off the list. Knowing how frequently I take two month blogging breaks I doubt I'll sign up again. I still get the IWSG newsletter, and have a half baked idea for the upcoming anthology, but MG has never been my thing, so maybe I'll just work on something else and perhaps be ready for whatever next year's anthology theme will be.

See y'all around. Have a great weekend.

Hi Donna! What a wonderful idea. A dream of mine. I hope the muse came too! Hopefully, your return means you will return to WEP. August is RED WHEELBARROW. Meanwhile, I'll see you at the next IWSG. Have a fantastic weekend! And eat great food and drink great wine :-)

Looks pretty comfortable. Have you just taken off for the weekend on your own, or is this an organized retreat with other writers?

Alex: not the first time, won't be the last :)

Dx: Always the wine. I'll see about the muse, lol.

Ian: Well, its really a work thing. I travel for my job, and decided not to drive home all day, just to drive back Monday. So, writers retreat!! Gotta take advantage, lol.

All to yourself with time to write is a win any day.

Hi Donna - great to see you ... and yes, just post when you can and want to - we'll pick your posts up. Just sincerely hope you thoroughly enjoyed your time with peace: "No cats, no cooking, no cleaning, no hubby or family interruptions. Bathroom all to myself." sounds ideal ... take care - cheers Hilary

WILD THING ~
Welcome back to your little spot in the Blogosphere!

At first, I was looking at the picture of your place in Elko and feeling jealous. Because when I was there in early April, I wound up at some little dump. They called it The Magnuson Hotel, but it really should have been named The Ragamuffin Motel.

But then it dawned on me that I wasn't in Elko. I was in Ely. But I'll tell you what: if I ever do that 'Loneliest Road In America' trip again, I'll stay in Eureka, NOT Ely!

That's a nice looking motel room you've got there. Lots of little table tops that you can set your glasses of wine upon. (Of course, that's assuming you ever set down a glass of wine. If your wine is like my Mojitos, it ain't around long enough to need settin' down. ;^)

Happy Writing!
