TROLL INFESTATION

Hey Y'all

Sorry I've been absent. Missed a few postings I wanted to participate in. My focus has not been on writing lately. Sold my home - got a great profit! But been in escrow for three houses and still living with family - yuck!!!! Work sucks - doesn't it always?!? Family drama. Did I mention living with family? Not cuz I'm destitute - far from it - but just haven't found a new home to close escrow on. So frustrating . . .

Just too much going on at home to write on anything, or even to blog hop around.

I miss it all though.

And . . since I followed some really good advice and secured my blog so all my friends and in-linkz postings can be seen on my blog - not to mention letting the blog go stagnant for a couple months - it seems I'm having more TROLL COMMENTS than friendly visitors. I deleted at least 12 spam comments from the last IWSG post. Seems the more secure you make a site, the harder it is for the regulars to visit.

Don't we love our electronics.

Anyway - the TROLLS have discovered my blog again, but that's not the reason I've all but abandoned the Community. I have just been otherwise occupied, and expect to be lax here for the rest of the year. Seems a good time to fix my life.

And perhaps I will come up with some good Troll stories while I'm not minding my blog for a couple months.

Good luck to all of you . . .

I am also getting a lot of Troll comments. Can't they just go back to the bridge they live under?

I've noticed there are trolls all over lately. Mine has been hit quite a bit too. So aggravating.

Good luck finding a house and getting your life sorted out. Sounds like a great opportunity for positive changes!

Hi Donna - just glad you can move when the right place comes along ... good luck with the looking.

I ignore things - delete them, and at times I'll put up comment moderation ... rest of the time I keep my eyes open and delete. Cheers Hilary

Yeah, stupid trolls are about at mine too. Good luck with the house hunt.

Hope you find a house soon. Ugly trolls. That's why I set my blog to comment moderation after a post is a week old. Some still slip through in the first week though.

Good luck finding a house. Yes, I have to delete those troll comments too.

I need to check for troll comments - it sounds like they are thick now.

Hey Donna, you have been busy. Explains why you didn't show up to the WEP Horror party just gone. Missed you and your take on horror! I wish you all the best finding a new home. Be great to be where you want to be. Thanks for securing your blog too. I've been having a few silly trollbys come by too. Ugh. Don't people have better things to do? Keep us up to date.

I woke up to about a dozen comments from the same idiot troll on a bunch of my blog posts so I started off my day deleting those comments. Wish those jerks would find something productive to do like getting a real job.

Speaking of jobs, yes, I agree a drudge job is not much fun, but I wouldn't mind having work that I loved and could make some extra money. I'm looking, but not looking very hard. Retirement is nice in many ways.

I wish you well in your search for a house and a better existence. Family is nice when you can fall back on them to get through a problematic time, but it could be a problem having to be with them all the time. Good luck!

Sorry about the trolls! I know Wordpress has anti-spam tools. Doesn't Blogger, as well? Anyway, It is nice to see you. Everyone should secure their blogs, regardless. Visitors (but the trolls likely don't care) may be turned off by the security warnings that pop up and your site is more vulnerable to hacking. Cheers!

WILD THING ~

I have very little trouble with trolls, but that's because I always use Comment Moderation. It works well for troll control.

I'll be looking forward to your return.

I think those damn TROLLERS come in spurts. I haven't had a problem with them for quite some time, BUT THEY ARE BACK... Yes, comment moderation does help.

I hope you find a bit of peace soon, Donna. I would love some myself. I am hoping after my new place is finished with its remodel, I can return there and finally have some much needed peace in my lovely new home in the country. Of course, my AWESOME writing attic will have to wait. The money I had tagged for it, had to go for something more functional like, a new kitchen floor and new cabinets. UGH. I had hoped to wait to do the kitchen in a few years, but the contractor who is working on my place suggested to replace them after he pulled them out to have the new floor installed. You know me, once that started, I decided to gut the kitchen and do it in true MICHAEL fashion... lol Sadly, the high-end glamour kitchens of my former grand residences in Chicago, are not in my budget for my hopefully forever home. For now a simple country kitchen will have to suffice. When MK starts bringing in some MUCH NEEDED bucks, I can upgrade in a few years. My HOGWARTS LIBRARY attic is much more important to me that a Glam kitchen. Besides, I always knew that was what sold my condos, this house, I DON'T plan on selling until I can't walk up the stairs anymore...and hopefully that will be decades from now. When I'm like 80 or 90! If I live that long.

Sending you a BIG hug.... Happy Thanksgiving~

I've noticed a rise in troll comments on my own blog and others too. Sad times. Here's to hoping you find that lovely new home soon!

Good luck with finding a new home! I've been largely absent lately, too. It seems taking a full break from blogging is a good idea, so you can come back fresh.
